The Planetary Society and Bill Nye

May 8-9, Science Museum Oklahoma

The Science Guy is coming to Oklahoma City! May 8-9, 2019, Science Museum Oklahoma will host two days of events with Bill Nye and The Planetary Society including a recording of Planetary Radio Live, fun family activities, and a VIP evening experience with Bill Nye.

So you’re planning to come to Planetary Radio Live with Bill Nye on Wednesday or the “Jack and the Geniuses” talk with Bill Nye on Thursday? Here are the details you need to know to get a seat!

The museum will be very busy this week. We’ve set up this ticketing and seating system to make the process of getting a seat in these events as smooth as possible and in the case of the Planetary Radio Live recording, to prevent guests from unnecessarily standing in line for several hours to save their place and/or standing in line without knowing if they will be able to get a seat. Thank you for your patience!

>> Planetary Radio Live | 3-4:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 8, Science Live Auditorium

The Planetary Radio Live podcast recording is included with regular museum admission or your valid, unexpired museum membership. There is absolutely no extra charge to attend the podcast recording, however you will need a separate (free!) ticket to get a seat. Want to know how to get a ticket? Keep reading!

Free tickets for the podcast recording will be available beginning at 9 a.m. at a table on the northeast end of the museum near the entrance to the Kirkpatrick Planetarium.

Tickets are:

  • First come, first served.
  • Limited to one per person — multiple tickets will not be given to any guest. You may not get an extra ticket or tickets for anyone – each member of your group must be present to get a ticket.
  • Will be given out in numerical order.
  • Grouped A-D with a number (1A, 2A, 3A … and so on through B, C, and D, a bit like an airline you may have flown on before).

You must have your ticket to enter the auditorium – don’t lose it!

Once all tickets have been distributed, a limited number of Standby tickets will be given out. Standby tickets will be used to fill empty seats only if available.

Once you have your ticket you can explore the museum (or leave and return – just get your hand stamped at the Box Office) until approximately 2:15 p.m. – at 2:15, please line up in numerical order with your group (A, B, C, or D) in the Aviation Wing.

A staff member will begin seating groups at approximately 2:30 p.m. You will only be admitted to the auditorium if you have your ticket – this ensures the theater is not overfilled. Unused seats will be released to Standby ticket-holders shortly before 3 p.m.
