First-Ever 'Late Nite Lab' Comes to Science Museum Oklahoma in February

Science Museum Oklahoma will host its first-ever Late Nite Lab, “Tinker ‘Bout It” from 6-11 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 9. The evening of tinkering will 3D printing, early animation, robotics, taking electronics apart, and more.
Oklahoma families can animate, automate, build, break and create from 6-11 p.m. on Feb. 9 at Science Museum Oklahoma during “Tinker ‘Bout It,” the museum’s first-ever Late Nite Lab.
Designed for families with children of all ages, SMO’s new Late Nite Lab program offers a variety of unique activities connected to each lab’s theme as well as access to the museum’s permanent exhibits and Kirkpatrick Planetarium and Science Live shows.

The inaugural Late Nite Lab focuses on tinkering, the curiosity-driven, hands-on learning that takes place at the intersection of science, art and technology.
“'Tinker ‘Bout It’ is all about tinkering, and it’s going to be an outstanding start to our Late Nite Lab program,” said Clint Stone, vice president for programs at Science Museum Oklahoma.
“Tinkering celebrates curiosity and creativity — guests will get to take apart electronics, learn the arts of bookbinding and woodworking, experience 3D printing, try their hands at early animation with phenakistoscopes, experiment with a robotic hand and a lot more.
SMO’s Tinker ‘Bout It Late Nite Lab will take place at the museum located at 2020 Remington Place in Oklahoma City. Tickets are $18 per person for museum members, $20 for nonmembers and children under age 3 are free. Tickets may be purchased online or at the door, however advance purchase is recommended. There will be no admission after 9 p.m.
