Science Museum Oklahoma is welcoming home school students and their families for a fun-filled, meteorology-focused Home School Day on January 22, 2025.
With an estimated 5.3 percent of Oklahoma K-12 students being homeschooled, Science Museum Oklahoma is offering a day dedicated to building community and giving homeschoolers a hands-on way to learn STEM outside of their regular environments.
Special meteorology programming such as Cloud in a Bottle and Static Electricity Generation will be offered for the day in addition to the many Science Museum Oklahoma exhibits, the Love’s Planetarium, and Science Live! shows. Activities are included in general admission to the museum.
KFOR-TV meteorologists will join Home School Day for the first KFOR 4Warn Storm School at Science Museum Oklahoma which will happen monthly in 2025.
“We have a rich history working alongside the homeschool community and we deeply value their love for learning. Home School Day is our opportunity to celebrate this vibrant group by offering tailored, hands-on experiences that inspire exploration and spark meaningful connections,” said Sherry Marshall, John E. Kirkpatrick CEO at Science Museum Oklahoma. “This year, we’re especially excited to feature weather-related activities to help build a community rooted in discovery and shared passion for science."
