School might be out, but the learning doesn't have to stop! Science Museum Oklahoma offers fall break camps for Oklahoma City metro families. 

Early Explorers (pre-K and kindergarten), Explorers (grades 1-3) and Innovators (grades 4-6) will have a fall break to remember with hands-on activities, live science demonstrations, and exploring the awesome power of science!

Warning: We limit our classes to 15 students to ensure every child has a high-quality experience and memories to last a lifetime. Therefore, classes do fill quickly.

CAMP FAQ

Hours and Tuition

In-person camps for Early Explorers (Pre-K and Kindergarten) are from 9 a.m. to noon and are $50 per camper for members and $60 for non-members.Early Explorers must be at least four years old and Innovaters cannot be older than 12 years of age.

In-person camps for Explorers (Grades 1-3) and Innovators (Grades 4-6) are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and are $100 for members and $110 for non-members.

Snacks and Lunch

Early Explorers should bring a snack for each day of camp.

Explorers and Innovators should bring to bring a lunch and a snack for each day of camp.

Available Space and Registration

Camps are limited to 15 children for Early Explorers (pre-K and kindergarten) and 15 children for Explorers and Innovators (grades 1-6).

Camps are marked "Limited Space Available" when less than five spaces remain and as "Sold Out" when full. If your preferred camp is sold out, please contact Guest Relations at (405) 602-3760 to be placed on our waiting list.

Registration closes the Monday before each camp or when full. Camp registration is updated frequently, however if you are concerned your preferred camp may sell out, please contact Guest Relations at (405) 602-3760 for the most up to date availability.

Camper Information Packets

Upon registering for camp, you will receive a confirmation email with a personalized link to fill out your parent packet and waiver. Early Explorers 
PreK/Kindergarten 
Minimum participation age: 4 years old

This is a 1/2 day camp from 9am-Noon
Class Limit: 15

First Session - Dinostars 
Rawrrrrrrr!!! This camp session is all about the prehistoric superstars we know and love. Uncover fossils and their meanings by printing in clay and discover how long a dinosaur could get! This epic journey will explore the animals before the dinosaurs through dinosaurs that still surround us today.
 
Second Session - Caboose and the Whole Caboodle 

Everyone hop on the train for a locomotive inspired science camp. Together we will discover the power that steam can create & you will get to build your own miniature boxcar. Enjoy a special visit inside the Pullman Parlor Car and unique story time experiences. All aboard!

First Session - Tiny Science

Let’s take a journey into the world of microscopy! Create tiny drawings using microscopes, perform cheek swabs, view organic and inorganic specimens, and discover just how tiny we all are with a visit to the planetarium.

 
Second Session - Treasure Hunters
Explorers, archeologists, and treasure hunters all know that searching for items from the past can require a lot of digging. Explore geological wonders & create crystals. The real treasure is in the hunt. We’ll see how the science of geology pans out.
 
Innovators (Grades 4-6) 
9am-3:45pm
Class Limit: 15

First Session - To the Core

Let’s journey to the center of the earth and find out just what is under our feet. While experimenting with earthquakes, tectonics, and volcanology, we’ll get to the groundbreaking core of earth science.

 

Second Session - Crypto Zoo 
Legend has it….we here at Science Museum Oklahoma love searching beyond what the world believes or knows as fact. Does it exist? Did it ever exist? Is it possible that animals waiting to be discovered are hiding in plain sight? Join us as we explore the truth and fiction surrounding our favorite cryptids and secretive animals. The truth is out there.
