Science Museum Oklahoma Receives $15,000 From Carolyn Watson Rural Oklahoma Community Foundation

Science Museum Oklahoma is pleased to announce it has received a $15,000 grant from the Carolyn Watson Rural Oklahoma Community Foundation through its Community Grant program. The grant will be used to assist in developing the capacity of the public libraries in Checotah and Westville to deliver engaging and educational hands-on science programming.
“We are absolutely thrilled to receive this grant,” says Linda Maisch, vice president of community engagement for Science Museum Oklahoma. “This generous grant, especially during these difficult times, allows us to continue working with our incredible library partners to provide outreach efforts in the Checotah and Westville communities. Working together we will be able to provide educational, hands-on science programming through their respective public libraries and also enhance the staff’s abilities to deliver future programming. We appreciate the support of the Carolyn Watson Rural Oklahoma Community Foundation and their belief in the mission of Science Museum Oklahoma.”
Through this grant, Science Museum Oklahoma will provide kits and professional development opportunities for library staff in order for them to deliver engaging and educational hands-on science programming. The Foundation’s support ensures convenient access to high quality Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) educational opportunities for the citizens of both communities.
