Dr. Jennifer D'Agostino- As the Zoo’s Director of Veterinary Services, Dr. D’Agostino oversees the Zoo’s veterinary healthcare and nutrition programs, while caring for the Zoo’s diverse collection of 1,300 animals and contributing to veterinary science efforts. Dr. D’Agostino attended Michigan State University, where she earned her doctorate in veterinary medicine. She started her career at the OKC Zoo 20 years ago as a veterinary resident after gaining experience at Kansas State University, Sunset Zoo, Topeka Zoo and Rolling Hills Zoo.

Dr. D’Agostino is a member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), American Association of Zoo Veterinarians (AAZV), American College of Zoological Medicine (ACZM), Nutrition Advisory Group, and the Elephant Managers Association (EMA). She is the secretary of the ACZM, an instructor for the AZA Principles of Elephant Management Course, AZA Parrot TAG veterinary advisor and serves as an associate editor of the Journal of Zoo and Wildlife Medicine in correlation with her commitment to the AAZV editorial committee. During her tenure, Dr. D’Agostino is most proud of the growth and progress she’s contributed to and witnessed while leading the Zoo’s veterinary department, as well as the development of the Zoo’s polymerase chain reaction lab that has helped the Zoo commit to the study and prevention of the elephant endotheliotropic herpesvirus.
