Donna Tyungu, M.D. is an assistant professor in Pediatric Infectious Diseases, she serves as the Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Control at the Oklahoma Children’s Hospital at OU Health and is the Pediatric Infectious diseases Section Chief.

Dr. Tyungu treats hospitalized patients for a variety of infectious diseases. She is a motivated physician-scientist with interests in neglected tropical infections that affect underserved populations. Dr. Tyungu has been a valuable leader in the fight against COVID-19 for OU Health and has led efforts to develop protocols for medical providers. She continues to be a community leader and immunization proponent. With expertise in pediatric healthcare and experience throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, she offers informed guidance from the perspective of a healthcare professional and parent of an extraordinary 4-year-old.
