Science Museum Oklahoma Camps

School's out, but the learning doesn't stop! Science Museum Oklahoma offers fantastic all-day camp sessions for Oklahoma City metro kids in pre-K to 6th grade during school breaks winter, spring, summer, and fall.

 

Registration is now open for Summer Camps. Camps begin on June 2 and run for 9 weeks, with new themes each week. Campers are grouped by age: Early Explorers (Pre-K - Kindergarten), Explorers (Grades 1-3), and Innovators (Grades 4-6). There is sure to be something for everyone! Slimeology

Oh, those wonderful slippery, goopy, and sticky polymers! How many different slime recipes can we try? Experiment with our special crunchy slime, see how far our elastic slime can stretch, and test our instant snow and cloud slime.

Tinker with a Twist

There are wonders to discover and hypotheses to test! Let’s work together to explore the how’s and why’s about a little bit of everything. From Engineering to biology, we’ll play, twist, and try again.

Tiny Tech

Our little engineers will use their imaginations to solve silly engineering challenges and explore how things work. We’ll build, create, and play with tiny tech as we take our first steps into the exciting world of engineering. Get ready for hands-on fun and big adventures in robotics!

Mighty Science

It’s time to use our super powers for good with some super science. Tune in your spidey senses to create a sticky spider web, harness the power of weather by melting ice, and find out what we can shrink using our spectacular science abilities.

Curiosity Quest

All aboard for a magical science adventure! We’ll explore super fun questions like “How does popcorn pop?” or “What’s the best way to build a parachute?” Get ready for hands-on experiments and dive into science-filled fun. Who knows - you might even end up baked into a pie!

Counting on You

There are so many things that math can do and sometimes it can be sneaky! Can you find all the surprising places that math is hiding? Let’s jump into counting, numbers, coins, and making the most fun out of math. We have so many games to play and stories to tell, and we’re counting on you to find the solutions.

Marvelous Me

Get ready for a fun-filled adventure all about our amazing bodies. We’ll learn about our heads, shoulders, knees, and toes, and identify how our five senses help us explore the world. Reveal answers to the questions: Where are your bones and what are they made of? Can you draw in the dark? How long are your guts? Join us as we discover the marvel of you!

Wild World

This week will be full of natural science and the critters we can find in our own backyards! Collect and explore the tiniest details of a leaf’s fingerprint, dissect flowers, make a toad house, and check out the fish and coral in the Oceanarium. Let’s find out how wild our big world can be!

To the Moon

Do you love outer space to the moon and back? Let’s eat some astronaut food, soar through our solar system, propel rockets into the sky, and enjoy a special show in Love’s Planetarium. Join us as we meet the friendly night sky and discover the wonders of space - it’s going to be out of this world!

Come along as we explore the things that helped invent the phrase “don’t try this at home”. Become an expert in the rules of lab safety and work together to perform mad scientist demos under the supervision of our highly trained staff.

Did you know that making, building, and creating all use our math skills and we may not even know it?  From expertly folding origami out of paper to building a robot with a working motor, math is hidden everywhere. Come tinker, build, calculate, and sum up some fun!

Get ready for a sunny adventure as we celebrate the Summer Solstice on Friday, June 20 - the longest day of the year! Rover Programming and Robotics

Have you ever dreamed of building a rover equipped to wander a Martian world? Now is your chance! Experiment with the mechanics of programming and examine the landscapes of Mars in the world class Love’s Planetarium. Discover how space rovers help scientists traverse planets, moons, and even asteroids. Get ready to build, code, and reveal the secrets of the universe - one robotic adventure at a time!

Backyard Bugs

The world is a big place that still needs exploring, so why not start in your own backyard? Step into a bug’s world as we add some cool to caterpillars and take the scares out of spiders. Creep on over to the buzzy world of insects and their interactions with the world around them.

The Weird and Wild

Finally, it’s time for the gross stuff! This week is all about the Ewwww! We’ll have a weird food taste test, make edible snot, and more. What would we look like if we had no bones? Why does that sandwich have green polka dots? It’s gross, it’s science, and it’s awfully awesome!

The Cold Depths of Space

Far outside our solar system in the vast oblivion of space - temperatures can plummet to an astounding negative 455 degrees Fahrenheit. How do scientists know this type of information? “D-I-Y” is where it’s at! With a little ingenuity, a bit of technology, and a dash of whatever is laying around, we can build just about anything - robots, programmable gadgets, and the hottest wearable fashions made from unlikely materials. Real tools. Real explorations. Real fun.

Campers will explore how to endure in the wilds of different environments. Whether a disaster has struck or zombies are swarming, we’ll investigate and learn how to apply practical skills like shelter building, filling a bug-out bag, and repurposing everyday items needed for survival.

Let’s roam the prehistoric past of the Great Plains, uncovering the fossils, landscapes, and incredible creatures that once lived in this region – and what is still there today. Let the games begin – again! Back by popular demand, we’re diving into the exciting world of games - from video games and card games to live-action role play. Chemical Chaos

Have you ever wondered about the science of everything? Come analyze the atoms that make up our universe and discover why matter should matter to you. We’re mixing it up in this chemically cool and chaotic camp. Test the polymer chains in slime formulas, analyze the almost instantaneous chemical reaction of rust, test and observe the colors elements can create, and things will surely (and safely) end with a bang.

Tech Maker

This is it! It’s the big T in STEAM. We’re going to uncover how technology goes hand in hand with science, engineering, art, and math.
